New types of content
The new AdvancedQTP offers many types of professional content, offering you the choice between in-depth technical article, to easy to use focused tips. Here’s a quick rundown:
Articles
Your good old, well known content. These highly professional, intensive and enriching articles cover a wide array of subjects, from code design to QTP and VBScript hacks.
Forums and Chats
All your familiar AdvancedQTP forums are still here, and accessible via Community->Forums. A chat system will be integrated into the site in the near future, allowing you to instantly get solutions and share ideas with your peers.
QTips
This new form of content offers quick and focused answers to your everyday problems and dilemmas. .
Do you want to list all files in a folder without going into the inner-workings of some complex mechanism? No problem! You can easily find short QTips with the relevant code-snippets, and have your problem solved within a minute or two. Later, if you’d like to better understand the subject, you can always find the article that explains it in more depth.
Tutorials
These tutorials and presentations offer a detailed walkthough of the main subjects and features in QTP. If you’re taking your first steps in the world of QTP, this is the place to start!
Blogs
These blogs will offer a sneak-peek into more casual, maybe non-professional issues. We offer them as an invitation to share our efforts in supporting and sustaining the world-wide QA automation community.

In the near future, AdvancedQTP will offer several QTP related services for your convenience. These will include Job Searching, deals and reviews on 3rd Party Tools, Premium services, newsletters, and much more!
Finding content relevant to your needs
The site offers three main ways to finding the content you need - browsing, searching and tag navigation.
Browsing
AdvancedQTP is divided into content worlds - Home, Knowledge base, First Steps, etc. You can browse the different worlds via the top navigation strip:
Each world can have several content channels. For example, the knowledge base world has the articles, projects, QTips and other channels. Browsing into a channel is done via the bottom navigation strip:
The available channels will be updated according to the current selected world.
Some channels are built as content directories. Clicking a directory will present its subdirectories, as well as any content under it. You can sort the content by difficulty levels via the top filter bar:

Searching
You can initiate a new search either by browsing into Home->Search, or by using the right-bar searchbox.
Once you enter your search and press enter, you’ll be taken into the search results page. Your search terms will be highlighted for your convenience. When you’ll enter one of the results, it too will be highlighted according to the relevant terms.
You can use complex search operators to refine your searches (note, some of these options will only work if your search terms are longer than 4 characters) :
Logical operators: +Descriptive +VBScript , +Descriptive -VBScript
Wildcards: *Script , SwfObject*
Exact Phrase: "Descriptive Programming"
Tag hunting
Each article and post is categorized by tag-keywords. You can see them in the right-hand "tag cloud". Clicking a tag will automatically bring up all the articles that were categorized with it. Please note that the tag cloud will only present the tags relevant to the current content directory or article.

Jumping through tags can be a very effective way for finding similar articles that are relevant to your needs.
Content by rating
Each article can be rated by you and other users registered to the site. You can see the currently most rated articles in the right-side menu. Clicking an item will automatically open it, and clicking the "TOP-20″ link will take you to a page with the 20 articles who received the highest rating so far.
Additional Features
Rating
You can rate articles by hovering above the 5-star icons, and selecting your desired rating. Once you rate an article, you cannot vote for it again. You can rate an article either from a list of items, or from the article itself. You must be registered to rate.
Printing
If you wish to print an article, use the "print" link at the top of the screen.This will produce a cleaner, more readable version of the article, with additional details (the urls of link in the article, etc.), ready to be printed.
Commenting
To comment on an article, just fill the comment form, and click "Submit comment" - your the comment will be automatically updated. You must be registered in order to comment.
Please note that long comments will require clicking the "read it" link to be shown.
Subscribing for site updates
You can subscribe to receive E-Mail updates whenever new content is added to AdvancedQTP. This is done via FeedBurner, by click the "Subscribe via Email" link.
You can also register directly from you browser. AdvancedQTP is fully complaint with RSS and ATOM standards. If you have a RSS enabled browser (e.g. IE7 or Firefox), you will be able to register with a click of a button.
