Dear Forum Members,
Due to recurring incidents, I wish to personally ask you to
refrain from sending your questions via
personal messages to me or the other forum moderators.
Though in the past I made an effort to provide answers to questions sent to me this way, it is impossible for me to continue doing so due to my tight timetable and workload. Another reason for my decision is that this is unfair to others who post their questions in the public and may need to await until we get to it or even completely escape our attention. With a growing community of more than 22 thousand members, you may understand that if only a fraction of members would send me personal messages every week or so, I will not be able to respond.
Hence that I wish to make it clear that the
forum boards are the only legitimate medium through which anyone can post questions and raise public awareness to interesting topics.
Personal messages containing questions that belong in the forums will not be handled at all.
Personal messages can still be sent to me or to other moderators in
exceptional cases such as to report on
forum abuse, etc., or in
business matters to contact the management of SOLMAR (our sponsor) with regard to the provision of various services.
Personal messages on other topics, such as prompting us to reply to an unanswered topic will still not be completely ignored, but they will be handled based on our time capacity only. However, please make sure that such a message contains a link to the forum topic (use the
bbcode to do it).
I hope you accept this with a deep understanding that it is done in order to improve the service and keep the knowledge channels open equally fairly for everyone.
