Celebrating a Year of AdvancedQTP Forums

Blog Tools

Dear AdvancedQTP Community Members,

In mid-October we have had a special occasion: we celebrated a year to the AdvancedQTP Forums.

For us at AdvancedQTP it is a real cause of rejoice to watch how what was just an idea in our minds actually was born, keeps growing and evolving; to see that people “vote” for AdvancedQTP by subscribing at a steady pace; to observe people returning to the site on a daily basis, hence justifying the site’s home greeting: “Welcome to AdvancedQTP – The resource hub for all your QTP needs!”.

I wish to share with you that it’s an honor and pleasure to me and the AdvancedQTP team to host you in our forums and assist you in your everyday doubts, dilemmas and problems, as well as showing you other approaches to think about issues that arise. I hope that you, as we, feel that AdvancedQTP is providing high quality service, and feel that we at AdvancedQTP do our best to keep our community members satisfied.

Your user experience is of highest importance to the AdvancedQTP team, so we keep looking for ways of improving our services. During the last months, we’ve launched this renewed site, hosted by a high performance server. We added a chat service, quizzes, and continued to report on the latest developments regarding QTP 9.5 and its upcoming successor – QTP Atlantis (10). All these in parallel to the daily help people of all skill levels are able to obtain within our forums and the other Knowledge sections: articles, QTips, projects and more.

However, high quality cannot be taken for granted, so please let me extend the gratitude of the whole community to several people whom we all should cherish, the people who make the AdvancedQTP experience possible. First, special thanks to our co-moderators: Paul Grossman, Anshoo Arora, Stefan Thelenius and Monika Arora Gautam. Let me thank them in the name of the AdvancedQTP team and on behalf of you – the distinguished members of our community, for their persistent (voluntary!) effort to keep your questions answered in their free time.

Two people deserve special thanks from the whole community. First, and foremost, Yaron Assa, the founder of AdvancedQTP (before Dani and I joined in) whom without his dedication and technical skills the operational side of AdvancedQTP would be a nightmare at best, and impossible at worst. This, in addition to his in-depth technological knowledge, which is reflected in his forum and blog posts. Second, Dani Vainstein, whose extensive knowledge in QTP and real fervor to share it with all of us, have been, and I am sure will continue to be, of immeasurable value. I am sure you’ve been kind of missing Dani during the last few months; he’s doing his best to continue contributing to the site (even if just occasionally or behind the scenes), but is really very busy as our SOLMAR’s CEO and Head of its Training Division.
Plans for the future:
In the next months, we at AdvancedQTP intend to launch an additional service: Private Support Forums. The AdvancedQTP public forums will remain free of charge*. This service is targeted for companies and individuals who wish to get answers to their questions and solutions to their problems, but cannot afford risking proprietary confidential information. This service will meet a need we felt in the field regarding confidentiality and time-to-answer. The service will be offered with various options regarding time-to-answer, number of calls, contact methods (internet, email, phone, VPN, etc.) and will be fairly priced, all these to ensure that this new service by AdvancedQTP keeps the high quality standard you’ve been used to enjoy during the last year.

Finally, let me express some personal words. The last year has been to me a kind of mystical mix of joy and pain, seeing some of my dreams (AdvancedQTP and SOLMAR) come true and my daughters flourishing and growing up on one side, but also closely following my father’s deterioration until his death several months ago. Life provides us of both – so remember this when you have some minor problem or issue; don’t get frustrated or discouraged. Keep believing that in the end it’s really going to be alright.

Let me thank you, members of the community, for joining me and the AdvancedQTP team in this extraordinary venture. I truly hope that we will continue enjoying the site and forums to help people improve and become even better professionals, and hence make higher quality workers and products. And not least, enjoy the fun of automation, which to me – after so many years – still resembles child play.
Thank you for your attention.
Bless you all.

Yours,
Meir Bar-Tal,
