If you’re using any type of RSS reader to stay updated with AdvancedQTP’s news and articles, we have a neat trick to show you.
If you’re not using rss, you should! RSS is a great way to effectively stay updated with news and articles. You can start learning about RSS in this wonderfully simple demonstration.
AdvancedQTP has a main RSS feed under www.AdvancedQTP.com/feed, which contains every site-update and article. However, it also has many hidden mini-feeds with a more focused scope.
Whenever you’re in an article directory page, you can subscribe specifically to that directory, and receive updates only when a new article is added to it or any of its subdirectories.
An article directory page is any page which starts with http://www.advancedqtp.com/content/… and looks like this:
Once you’re in an article directory page, simply add a /feed suffix to the page URL, and you will navigate to a focused feed, containing only the items in the relevant directory and sub-directories. For example, the URL of the above page is :http://www.advancedqtp.com/content/knowledge-base/articles/code-techniques-id15/ . So the focused feed’s URL should be http://www.advancedqtp.com/content/knowledge-base/articles/code-techniques-id15/feed .
And indeed, navigating there will bring up this feed (shown here in Firefox RSS reader):
Notice that the feed’s header is AdvancedQTP >> Code Techniques, indicating that it is a focused feed.
Feel free to use this mechanism to effectively keep updated with AdvancedQTP’s news and articles!
