A Community Developed Feature to be Integrated into QTP 10!

Blog Tools

No too long ago, I’ve published a recommendation regarding a small utility written by Tarun Lalwani – a resizer for the QTP intellisense pop-up.

It seems that HP’s QTP development team has noticed the review, checked out the utility, and have incorporated a similar feature into the next release of QTP. In the upcoming QTP 10 (Atlantis), you’ll be able to resize the intellisense popup just like you resize any other window / pane – just grab the border and drag. QTP will remember the last size you’ve set, even after you close it completely. This is a very welcomed feature, and while it may seem small at first, it can have a cumulative effect on our everyday productivity.

Now, beside demonstrating the blessed (and uncommon) ability to integrate new features into an ongoing schedule, I think this is quite a remarkable event in another aspect. It shows that HP is attentive to the QTP community’s needs. So if you have an idea for a feature or improvement – sound it out! While not every whim and desire will be answered, the good people at HP are listening, and you never know what might make a difference.

Thanks to Tarun Lalwani for his remarkable work, and to HP’s development team, for their willingness to listen and improve QTP and our work experience with it.
